Getting Your Photos On The Web
First thing to consider is the size of the image. A scanned or photo taken with a digital camera is commonly too large to display on the web. Too large in actual dimension, and too large in file size.
So, shrink them down to size. First, you may also need to rotate the image slightly if it is slightly tilted. Then CROP the image if needed. Trim the size down by excluding extra around the edges. Rotate the image slightly if it is slightly tilted. Next determine a good size. Commonly measuring in pixels and not inches, try for 600 pixels in the largest dimension.
The last thing is to optimize the image. Preview the image and get the file size down to the smallest level without losing much image quality, There will ALWAYS be a loss, so expect to have some. Someday the Internet will be like watching television but for now, there are limits to live with.
Photoshop is an Adobe product.
